Educator at Johnson-Brock Public School
We invited Nikki to our P.E.O. meeting and were truly amazed at her depth of knowledge on such a fascinating and important subject. Her genuine enthusiasm radiated throughout the informal presentation, and she stayed long after to answer our many questions sparked by the information she presented. It was a privilege to listen to her, and I was humbled by her family’s commitment to the environment and a sustainable lifestyle.
Retired Elementary Educator
I sat in on a sixth-grade science Honey Bee presentation that Nikki Hayes gave recently. It was obvious from the beginning that Ms. Hayes is a professional. She was well organized and knowledgeable about her topic. She knows how to capture and hold the students’ attention by using a variety of tactics, such as finding out the groups’ knowledge level and then building on that. Students learned about how honey bees impact their lives and the world and they learned how they, in turn, can help the bees. A colorful video presentation and interesting fun facts as well as actual beekeeping equipment assured that students retain information. Ms. Hayes has a relaxed way with the students, yet is in control of the group. Students gave her their full attention throughout the presentation.
